Abstract
The free tendon graft become so firmly fixed by inelastic, fibro-vascular adhesion that any chance for gliding is lost frequently.
We experienced to insert a silastic rod as a first stage operation in flexon tendon graft. This preparatory step is thought to reduce the number of adhesions and to increase the range of gliding, when the presthesis removed after two months from insertion and replaced with a tendon graft through sheath-like structure around the rod.
The functional result was very excellent with minimal fibrotic adhesion only in the incisional area.
So, we presented to this two stage technique of the flexor tendon groft in damaged hand using silastic rod.
